Albert M. Ramirez
1943 - 2020
Albert M. Ramirez, formerly from Reedley, California, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2020 in Clovis, California, at the age of 77. Family members in attendance say that he died peacefully after a short illness.
He was born on January 21, 1943, Santa Paula, California. The family moved to the Reedley area, approximately in 1943. Albert attended Reedley schools before joining the US Navy in February 1962 to May 1966. Stationed in San Diego, Calif., on USS Oriskany, he toured southeast Asia, between Vietnam, Japan and the Philippines.
Albert was a Mechanical Engineer and had worked for the Boeing Company, Seattle, Washington, Northrup Grumman, Bell Helicopter and Raytheon Missile Systems in Tucson, Arizona. Albert also worked with Rocketdyne, a division of Rockwell International and was involved with the Space Shuttle Main Engine in Canoga Park, California. He retired in Tucson, Arizona and later returned to Fresno. His interest’s included hiking, gardening, golf, dance, art painting, cooking, reading, bird watching, music and the stock market. He was a fun-loving, always joking brother and had a special wit about himself. We will dearly miss him.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Joe and Mercedes Ramirez, sisters’ Lupe (Louis) Camacho and Virginia (Larry) Martinez, brother Raymond Ramirez and half-brother Joe (Diane) Martinez of Selma, CA.
Surviving siblings: Jesse (Dorothy) Ramirez of Selma, CA., Elisa (Antonio) Pinedo of Tempe, ID., Ciro (Martha) Ramirez of Albuquerque, NM., Trinie (Michael) Montijo of Davis, CA., Margaret (Clem) Chavez of San Fernando, CA., Rosie (Richard) Fierro of Dallas, TX., Martinez, Angie (Terry) Sherard of Springfield, OR., Linda Ramirez of Canoga Park, CA. Also, he had many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Cremation by Yost & Webb Funeral Home, Fresno, CA. A celebration of life is pending.
