Velma Zulim



Velma passed away on February 4, 2022 at the age of 94. She was born on January 16,1928 and lived most of her life in the Central Valley of California in Fresno. She married Anthony Zulim and together they had three daughters.

She was an accomplished artist who painted primarily in oils. Her work won many awards and was shown in galleries and establishments throughout the valley.

She worked as a display artist for Gottschalks for many years and freelanced as a local set designer for weddings and other special events. Her creativity shown in everything she accomplished.

Velma was a devoted and loving mother who cherished her girls.Her daughters will miss her greatly. She was a kind, loving and beautiful woman who brought much love and inspiration to all around her. She made this world a better place and we are all forever grateful that she touched our lives. She was an angel amongst us, now an angel in heaven.

Velma was preceded in death by her mother Alma Powell, her husband Anthony Zulim and brother Jim Powell.

She is survived by her daughters, Marsha Bowers, Kate Zulim and Cynthia Zulim as well as her son-in-law Wes Bowers and nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Due to Covid there will be no service. A celebration of her life will be held at a future date.
