Obituary

Robert Louis Nieson was born in Hanford California on March 19, 1936. He passed away on Wednesday August 11, 2021. His parents were Stanley and Helen Nieson and he had one brother, Chuck, who lives with his family in Minnesota.

Bob graduated from Hanford High School in 1953 then served in the U.S. Army. When he completed his service, he attended and graduated from the College of Sequoias in Visalia California.

In 1958, he married Charlene Askeland, from Tulare, moved to Fresno and became a father to two daughters, Robin and Karen Nieson. Bob was a route salesman for Pepsi Cola, Olympia Beer and Coors Beer.

In 1973, he married Mary Fitzsimmons and began working for White Pine Lumber Company where he worked until he retired.

Bob married Dorothy Ergo and moved to Clovis where he began working part time at Orchard Supply Hardware. He was twice honored as Employee of the Year.

He and Dorothy were very active in their church and held Bible Studies in their home. Dorothy passed away last March and our family agreesthat Bob really just wanted to go home to be with the Lord and Dorothy.

He is survived by his daughters, Robin Nieson Iwerks and Karen Althoff (husband Bob), his brother Chuck (wife Judy Nieson) and their families and grandchildren Lacey Lutz (husband Ted) Kevin Herman (wife Erica) Carly Althoff and Shelby Althoff. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.

Bob wished to be cremated and there will be a service at Yost & Webb at 1002 T Street. 11am Friday, August 27, 2021
