Jean Marie Patton
1925 - 2022

Jean Marie Patton, 97, passed away August 29, 2022 in Clovis, CA.

Jean was born April 30, 1925 in Palouse, Washington to Henry and Merle Turnbow.

Jean earned her RN while in nurses training in San Jose, CA during World War II. Jean went on to graduate from Fresno State, where she received her BSN. She also earned certificates in school and public health nursing. Jean had a long career as a nurse including working at Hanford Community Hospital, as a school nurse in Hanford Elementary Schools and NAS Lemoore Schools and ending her career as a public health nurse at the Kings County Health Department.

Jean enjoyed working in her garden, reading, and playing cards and Mah-Jongg and spending time with family and friends. She also loved Mexican food and ice cream from Superior Dairy. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church Hanford, the Hanford Garden Club and the Carnegie Heritage League.

Jean is survived by her sister Marjorie Bumpass of Houston, TX; son Steven & Joann Patton of Clovis, CA; daughter Nancy Dillon of League City, TX. Grandchildren Angela & Andrew Winter of Fresno, CA; Amy & Kody Bueermann of League City, TX; Sarah and Shawn Langston of Kress, TX; and Mike Dillon of Seabrook, TX. Great Grandchildren, Avery, Abella and Anthony Winter; Will, Ty and June Bueermann; and Madilyn, Harper, Maddux and Quinn Langston.

Nephew Charlie and Marilyn Bumpass and sons Thomas and Alan, niece Cathy and Steve Cassidy and son Michael and niece Becky Bumpass.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents Henry and Merle Turnbow; her husband of 52 years Chalace Patton; her son-in-law Steve Dillon and her brother -in-law Bill Bumpass.

The family requests any donations in Jean's honor be sent to Hanford First Baptist Church 9125 13th ½ Ave Hanford, CA 93230.

Interment will be at a later date at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
