Born Dorothy Eloise Rasco on March 14, 1931 in Los Angeles, California to Ina May Viets and Augustus Ivan Rasco. She was preceded in death by both parents and her brother, Allen. A beloved sister, Barbara remains with us.
She passed away peacefully of natural causes on August 22, 2022 at the Evergreen Care Home in Fresno, California where she was lovingly care for. She was 91 years of age.
As a child she lived for a time in Texas before her family returned to San Diego, California.
At 18 Eloise married Robert Johnson and moved to Park Rapids, Minnesota where she stayed for twelve years and had two children, Donald and Rita, who survive her.
She became divorced and returned with her children to El Cajon, California to be near her sister and other family members.
She remained there until November, 2016 when she moved to Coarsegold, California to live with her daughter and son-in-law.
Eloise was a devoted mother and later a devoted grandmother to her only grandchild, a boy, Jesse.
Eloise was raised a Christian and remained devote throughout her life.
She worked as a bookkeeper and eventually graduated from Phoenix University at the age of fifty with a BA in business.
She retired early and was able to travel the world via cruises. She even took a long, solo car trip and saw most of the USA.
She also was an avid gardener and had a beautiful rose garden at her home in El Cajon.
Eloise is remembered as a stout Republican. She was a founding member of her local El Cajon Women's Republican Club. She won awards for her service to the Republican Party.
Eloise will always remain a loving memory in the hearts of many. Her family was blessed to have her as a matriarch. She will be sorely missed on earth but is home in Glory with her Lord.
Eloise chose cremation and had requested her ashes be scattered in a woodland. The family has chosen to have a quiet remembrance and scatter her ashes at Yosemite National Park, California
