Dorothy Helen Chaparro
November 16, 1942 - April 26, 2022

Dorothy was born in Rocky Ford, Colorado on November 16, 1942 to parents Jake and Angelina Gallegos. She passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 26, 2022 surrounded by her two sons.

Dorothy married Ernest Chaparro and had two sons Michael and Ramon, When Ernie passed away she raised her two boys and was a very hard working single mother. Dorothy was known by her family as Dot or Dotty, she worked as a beautician for 50 plus years, she had many of the same customers for years and made many friendships. Dot also worked for Internal Revenue Service for 20 years. After her retirement Dot loved to take a ride to Table Mountain Casino, she was a very independent lady and lived alone until she passed away.

Dot was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Chaparro, Parents Jake Gallegos Sr and Angelina Gallegos, brothers Vincent Gallegos, Ronald Gallegos, Jake Gallegos.

Dot is survived by her two sons and daughter in-laws Michael and Diane Chaparro of Fowler, California and Ramon and Lisa Chaparro of Fresno, California granddaughters Miranda Chaparro Gonzalez and Mila Chaparro. her brothers Leonardo Gallegos of Fresno, California, Richard Gallegos of El Paso, Texas, Raymond Gallegos of Madera, California, her sisters Loretta Marquez of Reedley, California, Priscilla (Tootsie) Gallegos of Porterville, California, Vanessa Valtierra of Fresno, California, and Frances Gallegos of Fresno, California. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, neices, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank Maple Tree Care Home for their care of our mom for the short time she was there. Lastly, we would like to thank the staff at Saint Agnes Hospice who aided us as mom took her last breath and gained her angel wings.
