Brett K. Riley

February 7, 1966 - December 27, 2025

Brett K. Riley entered the presence of the Lord on December 27, 2025. He was a devoted son, father and friend to many. His profound love, unwavering wisdom and gentle kindness touched all who knew him. He will be remembered by many as a master auto mechanic and as the volunteer manager of BMX race tracks in Madera, California and at Woodward Park, in Fresno California.

Brett was born in Kankakee, Illinois on February 7, 1966 to William F. Riley and Carol J. (Raiche) Riley. Brett married Dawn E. Gehris on July 11, 1987. Brett is survived by his three sons Calvin M. Riley Schempre and his wife Brittney Schempre of

Fresno, California; Nathan P. D. Riley of Las Vegas, Nevada; and Tyler A. Riley and his Wife Carson Riley of Justin, Texas; five grandchildren; his mother, Carol J. (Raiche) Riley Calderon of Fresno, California; and his brothers Brian K. Riley of Davis, California and Bradford K. Riley And his wife Henrietta "Bing" of Fresno, California. He was preceded in death by his father, William F. Riley.

In his professional career, Brett worked as an auto mechanic at various auto shops and dealerships in the Fresno/Madera area, the most recent being Gill GMC in Madera, California. As a Certified Master Mechanic, he often assisted and trained other, younger mechanics who worked with him.

As well as managing the BMX race tracks, Brett led a BMX team who raced around the State of California and even nationally. When the track was in Madera, California the team was "Mad Town BMX" and when the track was moved to Woodward Park in Fresno, California, the team was "Dog Pound BMX." It was during this time that Brett met many young people who came from broken homes or troubled situations. He willingly became a father figure to many and stayed close through the years.

Brett truly spent his life caring for his family and for others with much devotion. He will forever be remembered by many with love and gratitude as the "go to" guy when help was needed.
