Amador Martinez,
Sr.
September 11, 1931 – November 29, 2022
Amador Martinez, Sr.
1931 - 2022
On Tuesday, November 29th, 2022, our beloved Amador Martinez Sr. passed away. Amador was born in 1931 on the 11th of September and grew up in a small town in New Mexico. Amador spent time living in Caruthers, Fresno and San Jose. He returned to Fresno in 2016 and resided with his brother in law Leon Contreras, his son Jr and his grandsons.
He loved his yearly birthday trips to the casino with his kids. Everyone took a turn taking him to his happy place. He enjoyed fishing and loved to be in the garden. He wasn't into the fancy gardening electric tools. If he was in the garden, he was on his knees clipping the weeds by hand. He would spend hours in the yard. When he was done, it was a masterpiece. He loved to have his sweet bread and coffee in the morning and sometimes throughout the day. But, he was known for his famous homemade chili. Walking into the house, just to have to walk back out. The smell of the chili's cooking on the stove, would make you cry. Papa would just laugh at us and continue cooking. He always had a smile on his face and this small chuckle when something was funny. Our beloved Amador will be missed tremendously.
A father like you is rare, one that's so generous, smart and kind. A father like you is what everyone needs, full of smiles and laughter. Nothing can replace a father like you, but when you get to heaven, God will be lucky to have you too.
Amador is survived by his 4 children Amador Martinez Jr, Julie Caudle, Monica Moreno and Hopie Contreras; his 12 grand-children, 22 great grand-children and 5 great great grand-children.
